YASMINE LETS HER HAIR DOWN BEFORE CANCER CHARITY CUT

-

SHE’S been growing her hair for all of her six years, but Yasmine Lintott is about to cut it off for cancer.

The St Hilda’s student has 82cm of luscious locks that flow all the way down below her knees. But after watching a family friend lose her hair to chemotherapy, she has decided to raise money for cancer sufferers by donating her own.

This morning at her school assembly, Yasmine will go under the scissors while all funds going to the Cancer Council.

Mother Tina Lintott said she was proud of her daughter.

“She was watching a video on YouTube of kids with no hair after losing it to cancer and said ‘Mummy, I need to help them’.” Mrs Lintott said.

The Cancer Council requires about 36cm of hair to be donated to make a fitting wig, which means nearly half of Yasmin’s hair will be getting cut off.

Yasmin said she was excited to donate her hair, but her school friends were not too sure.

“They all said they are going to miss my long hair, but I’m doing it so I can help people with no hair.”

Yasmin has been fundraising for nearly a year, receiving donations from school friends and family. She has collected $600.
