Tune in to ‘music month’
THE arrival of Melbourne DJ Joel Fletcher at Platinum Nightclub Broadbeach tomorrow night heralds a large and varied month of live music and world class acts.
Fletcher’s signature electronica will be followed by Aussie music icons Daryl Braithwaite and Jimmy Barnes next Saturday, followed the weekend after by Barry Humphries at The Star, whose alter ego Dame Edna changed the Australian comedy scene forever.
Then, the week after rings in yet another vastly different musical flavour with the annual Blues on Broadbeach, four days of gritty international blues at the heart of the Gold Coast.

TOMORROW
Joel Fletcher at Platinum GET a taste of the Australian electronic scene as Joel Fletcher hits the Platinum Nightclub decks tomorrow night.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Fletcher has become iconic of the underground dance music scene and earned widespread praise for his work in the music industry as DJ and producer alike.
With a discography of both underground and commercial hits, Fletcher is no stranger to the airwaves, the multi-platinum-selling artist has managed to reach double platinum sales and for his collaboration with Will Sparks on Bring It Back and gold sales for his original production Loco.
But he became a household name for his ARIAnominated, four-times platinum smash-hit Swing ft. Savage that proved to be an inescapable track – added to every radio network in the country and coming in as one of the most played tracks on Australian commercial radio that year.
Playing shows all around the world each year, it’ll be a treat for club music lovers to have this young talent in town.

Daryl Braithwaite and Jimmy Barnes CELEBRATE a night of Aussie musical icons at Surfers Paradise LIVE.
The annual three-day festival is set to please crowds with headline acts Braithwaite and Barnes playing back to back on Saturday night for free.
Barnes is the heart and the soul of Australian rock and roll. After attracting crowds in the tens of thousands at Falls Festival, one of Australia’s biggest annual youth festivals, living legend Braithwaite and his trusty band continue to headline Australia’s best lineups, bringing hits including
Howzat, As The Days Go By, One Summer and, of course,
The Horses.
This will be one singalong not to miss. He’ll take to the Main Stage up the beach end of Cavill Ave at 6.15pm.
Then the Aussie music icons continue with Barnes, who will pick from his massive catalogue of music spanning 40 years. Catch all his hits including Khe Sanh, Working Class Man, No Second Prize, Too Much Ain’t Enough Love and more.

The Man Behind the Mask CELEBRATED Australian performer Barry Humphries AO, CBE will take you on a revelatory trip through his colourful life and theatrical career when he tours to The Star Gold Coast.
In an intimate, confessional evening – seasoned with highly personal, sometimes startling, and occasionally outrageous stories – Australia’s best loved entertainer will be peeling off his mask to introduce the man behind the clown.
For more than 60 years, Humphries has held a mirror to Australia and Australians, revealing their virtues, their foibles, their triumphs and their failings through a gallery of adored characters, including Dame Edna Everage, Sir Les Paterson and Sandy Stone.

Blues on Broadbeach BLUES on Broadbeach caters to blues fans young and old, with more than 150 live performances across the four days.
It combines blues, folk, soul, roots and rock, all right in the centre of the emerging hub of entertainment,
Gold Coast.
Better yet, the festival is completely free, making it the perfect holiday escape with friends or family.
With the event being held across more than 20 indoor and outdoor venues in the bars, restaurants, streets and parks of Broadbeach, the four days are set to be utterly packed with both local and international talent.
Friday 18 is a night to bookmark, with big acts including Lloyd Spiegel at the Broadbeach Mall Stage, Canadian Charlie A’Court at the Broadbeach Tavern, Ash Grunwald headlining the Surf Parade Stage and former INXS frontman Jon Stevens at the Star – all free of charge. the sunny
