LAUGHING STOCK

TWEED Shire is becoming a laughing stock as it adds opposition to the siting of a new hospital to a growing list of whinges.

In a first for bloody-minded negativity, the whingers have trotted out global warming as a reason to oppose a much needed public hospital dedicated to saving lives. Meanwhile patients trek over the border for cancer treatment, for example, whereas a new hospital at Kingscliff would provide that. There isn’t a community anywhere else in the country that would turn its back on the offer made to the Tweed by the NSW Government. The mayor and her mates need to get out of the way.
