Jenny, the sad thing is, parents of these tram travelling young people are too embroiled in their own life problems, they haven’t the intelligence nor time to teach their kids respect and manners. My children and tram user grandchildren would never ignore an older person’s rights. LS

Well said Harry. We are tolerant of different food choices, marriage choices and fashion choices. Beliefs, God and spirituality are personal and differences should be tolerated and not forced on others or anyone persecuted because of them. P.S.

How lucky are the CEOs and board members of the banking industries, imagine how much trouble they would be in if they were in a union.

I agree with you Erin. Leave the lakes and wildlife alone. LS

I suggest an area be reserved at next year’s Currumbin Anzac Ceremony for young boys/men in detention or on parole. Surely experiencing such a moving telling of the Anzac Story in such a magnificent setting and being confronted with the endurance and sacrifice of their peers would have a positive effect. Trish

Can you imagine how far in front of the polls the ALP would be if Bill Shorten wasn't the Opposition Leader? The guy lacks any form of presence, leadership skill, empathy or credibility. And I'm an ALP member. Johnno

The banks and financial institutions shouldn’t be denied the tax breaks, if they pass, as it would impact the Aussie worker via super, bank economic viability etc. However the perpetrators of these offences should be charged and substantially fined if a law has been broken. If it’s a culture, the CEO needs to be held responsible. Public shaming, fines and jail time would be appropriate. Lookout.

To all our Kiwi friends at the dawn service at Surfers. I was annoyed and embarrassed that your national anthem was not played. Side-by-side. Wayne, Surfers

Have to say the NRL do Anzac Day better than the AFL which I support. The AFL are too Melbourne-centric. The NRL provide a game in both Sydney and Melbourne while the AFL concentrate on Melbourne only, including Anzac eve. Hate to see if they gave us an encore game in the future. It would be an evening game at Etihad in Melbourne for sure. Dumb

and dumber I say. Dominic.

Anzac Day. When you can drink until you can’t walk or barely talk but you can’t go food shopping to help with a hangover. I would’ve thought pubs would be closed before Coles or Wooll worths. Who makes these rules? Treeman

What better way to remember 100 yrs of Gallipoli then to bring back compulsory national

military conscription. Doug

When are we going to have a Royal Commission into the health funds who continue to screw us while the government continue to do nothing for us and agree to the premium rise year after year?

With how great Anzac Day is I think that it’s about time that the country should pull back a big percentage of the money we give to overseas aid and use it to help our brave men and women who serve this great country who need it. I think that’s the least we as a country could do for such a great bunch of brave people. Jamie

Does anyone know who to call to get these orange bikes taken away from our kerb fronts? Some have been here for days.

I grew up next to the Helensvale golf course. And I am glad submissions are being made to turn it into a government housing commission location. People need to start thinking about the less fortunate. - Susan

Please will they take the traffic lights off timers and put them back to the sensor. It’s a joke

New royal baby boy should be called Spencer after princess Di maiden name, now that’s appropriate. Doug

Re NRL scrums ... leave them in it takes out 12 players and opens up the game ... BWM

The council just want more land to build houses and collect rates. That’s the intention behind filling Black Swan Lake and Lake Hugh Munz. We want our Gold Coast left as it is. Beautiful lakes and wildlife. Get rid of this council I say.

Disgruntled: We live in Cooly and enjoyed every minute of Beach Volleyball! Fabulous atmosphere and fabulous entertainment! We closed our blinds after midnight! Chaos? Don’t know where you live! It was terrific! Sandy Toes.
