Judges flying first class – another bunch of overpaid parasites – that can’t do their job – just like our politicians – but happy to waste taxpayers money. Greed is good!

Corrine Barraclough, I liked your article in Saturday’s

very much. You have hit the proverbial nail right on the head with it. Loved the last sentence. Bee.

I am glad the printers of the Games volunteers record do not print the phone books. No family names first? Another stuff-up. Roy, Burleigh.

It’s obvious why Cairns has a water park Colleen ... crocs, stingers. Our waterpark is 50km long. Lucky us, I’d say.

R u aware a Nerang dance academy, Hy Fidelity, just placed 5th in World Championship? Surely a photo and article should be published. Lynn West.

The Dominator, I must agree with you. If the aircraft carriers where anchored at Pearl Harbor the great sea battles at Coral Sea and Midway would not have been. To those brave young Australian men on the Kokoda Trail, I will never ever forget what they did. True Aussie.

The security business is a ripoff for its workers and has been for years. They pay you way under the award and super is just a joke.

The next stage of the light rail must go past Metricon Stadium to provide easy transport for those attending the football and cricket and also the new Sports and Leisure centre and soccer. Public transport in this area is very poor and this would benefit those living at Emerald Lakes and surrounding areas. Also heavy rail needs extending to Coolangatta. The Carrara kid. Ah come on, Judge McGinness – really? If you or yours, aged in their 70s were victims, I bet the sentences would be less soft. These bottom-feeders are laughing – can’t you see that?

Oi Dominator, you goose. Maybe you should read your history. In WWII my old man and 300 commando volunteers used guerrilla tactics and smashed four battalions of Japanese to help keep Australia safe. Read Kim, next year come to Runaway Bay Anzac Service. Both anthems sung beautifully by a real lady. The Anzac spirit is alive and well there at every service, just beautiful and getting more and more popular every year. See you there next year, you’re so welcome. Jen. Black swans cannot nest on the banks of the Gold Coast canals because dogs won’t leave them alone. They have nowhere else to go but a man-made chemical dumping pool nearby. Wake up, GC. We are better than that ! I am all for stopping the sexual harassment against women in and out of the workplace. However, it also happens against men, just that they are more embarrassed about saying anything, same with male rape. Raped male by male will often deny it for the stigma!

I agree as well about getting rid of the yellow lines on the road. How about all the blue lines on the Esplanade and the Commonwealth Games advertising on the trams. The Games finished two weeks ago. PM, Surfers.

Donald Trump is not the president of Australia or the World and the sooner Malcolm Turnbull and Julie Bishop realise that the better. Wouldn’t you agree, Mr Ciobo?

The live export industry is untenable but it is even more remarkable that the do-gooders from the RSPCA continue to turn a blind eye to the cruelty that is being inflicted and are doing nothing to stop it.

Give me a break from the “what can we do next trip to reinvent the Gold Coast”. You have already wrecked it along with my unique lifestyle.

Agree re: night lighting of sails at Marina Mirage. Could someone please turn back on the enchanting purple bridge lights on Thomas Dr. They haven’t been working for some time despite being located beside Energex substation.

Women are so obsessed and demanding to be recognised these days (girl power). They now want to lead the Anzac Day marches. I thought that was reserved for men who went to war, no women at the front lines at both world wars, Korea or Vietnam wars either. This is simply women’s equality demands. The incapacitated vets should lead the marches, not a bunch of women who never served in the ADF, this is an insult to us vets who saw the horrors of front line combat. Me and my mates will refuse to march next year. Mark.

To zerotolerator 28/4, I bet you will be the first to complain when you are “held up” by lane closures to repaint the yellow games lanes. Patience, all will happen. Patient road user.

Ken Johnston, why should GPs earn such big money when they only give us 5 minutes and herd us through like cattle. You didn’t mention that in Your Views 28/4, did you? In other words you are telling us oldies to suck it up. Ted, an old vet.
