Berkel returns for Byron Tri

PROFESSIONAL Tim Berkel will return home for the 23rd Byron Bay Triathlon on May 12.

Berkel is expected to battle it out in the men’s open distance with fellow baysider Matt Slee, fresh off podium finishes at Kingscliff and the Tweed Coast.

“The Byron Tri creates a great celebration vibe and is an ideal end of season weekend away for Tri Clubs, teams, family and friends.

Races will be held from noon to 4pm at the Byron Surf Lifesaving Club,” race director Mike Crawley said.
