Punters do it in style

-

PUNTERS will have access to a new $2.2 million betting auditorium at the big Gold Coast Cup race day tomorrow.

Gold Coast Turf Club CEO Steve Lines said the revamped betting ring was 80 per cent complete and would be operational for members and the general public for the first time this weekend.

“It looks really good,” Lines said. “It won’t be air-conditioned yet but when it is it will be the biggest air-conditioned general admission areas of any track in Queensland.

“Half of it will be accessible to the members and the other half for the general public.”

The auditorium will feature 10 bookmakers, more than 30 betting terminals and “more televisions than Harvey Norman”, according to Lines.
