Cowboy star charged
THE North Queensland Cowboys were last night reeling after premiership star Scott Bolton was charged with indecently assaulting a woman during a boozy night at a Sydney bar.
Bolton, who had been considered one of the game’s “good guys”, was among a group of Cowboys who went to a Bondi nightspot on Saturday for a meal and beers.
The scandal exploded when police were called after a complaint from a woman about 11pm. By that time Bolton had left but he attended Waverley police station yesterday and was charged. He will appear in court on June 19.
The NRL integrity unit has been informed of the incident.
A spokesman said Bolton, 30, would not be stood down at this stage.
“We will seek more details this week but we usually let the court process take its course,” he said.
