Rollers in need of lift

-

ROLLERS coach Michael Van Dongen says his side must discover a ruthless shooting streak if they want to snap their QBL women’s drought.

Gold Coast, who finished at 0-17 last season, fell to 0-2 this term following Saturday’s 79-54 defeat to the Spartans.

Van Dongen was left frustrated by a lack of potency all over the court, citing the 1-10 effort from the field for Opal Madar as an example.

“We couldn’t make shots; we had open shots that we just weren’t hitting,” he said.

“We do a lot of training on it so there are no excuses for not shooting the ball well.

“We’re just not converting – it was a real lack of us not finishing off plays.”

Meanwhile, the Seahawks lost 63-52 to the Capitals .
