10,000 hope to get gallop between races today

- MARK OBERHARDT

EMERGING sprinter Care To Think will gallop between races at Murwillumbah today as a final hitout before the Group 1 Doomben 10,000.

Trainer Matt Dunn has entered Care to Think for a barrier trial after the last race today but hopes the club will allow him to gallop the gelding on the course proper.

“Unless there is a dramatic change he will work on the course proper,” Dunn said.

“He is going very well at the moment and we are looking forward to Saturday’s 10,000.”

Care To Think, who hasn’t run since March 3, is chasing the Brisbane Group 1 treble of the Doomben 10,000, Kingsford Smith Stakes and Stradbroke Handicap.

Jeff Lloyd will partner Care To Think, who won the Magic Millions Cup in January.

“Jeff knows him very well and has a big opinion of him,” Dunn said.
