Knights’ A-League aim

GOLD Coast Knights are one win away from a potential showdown with A-League opposition after advancing in the FFA Cup.

The Premier League side edged SW Thunder 2-1 in Toowoomba on Saturday to book a spot in Round 7 of the national knockout competition.

The Knights, bound for the NPL in 2019, next face Sunshine Coast Fire, with the winner into the last 32 draw which will include A-League teams.

The Knights have now beaten two NPL clubs to reach Round 7 after getting past Gold Coast United recently.

Gold Coast teams have a strong FFA Cup record.
