Wallis departs Dolphins
A CHANGING of the guard is on the cards at the Gold Coast Dolphins with Damian Wallis confirming he will step down as head coach.
Wallis has been a pillar of the club with his involvement as a player or coach spanning back to 1995.
In an announcement yesterday, the Dolphins thanked him for his incredible contribution and described his departure as a “huge loss”.
“The club and its players owe a lot to the way he has shaped our culture and set the standard for the professional approach to the way we train and play,” the announcement read.
The premiership-winning wicketkeeper-batsman called time on his playing days at the end of the 2016-17 Queensland Premier Cricket season.
