Games protesters ask for ceremony footage
THREE protesters requested CCTV footage of their arrest at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony when they appeared in court yesterday.
Former Don Dale detention centre detainee Dylan Voller (pictured), Ruby Wharton and Megan Rodaughan faced Southport Magistrates Court on public nuisance charges.
Rodaughan’s lawyer Debbie Kilroy, of Kilroy and Callaghan Lawyers, requested the matter be adjourned so the footage viewed.
Magistrate Donald MacKenzie ordered police to provide the footage to the trio by May 31.
He adjourned the matter to June 12. Defence lawyer Benedict Coyne, of Anderson Fredricks Turner, appearing for Wharton and Voller, declined to comment outside court. The three are on bail. Voller’s mother, Judith Voller, filmed media waiting outside court on her camera phone. could be
