RUNNER Judith Pound is returning for the 33rd time to compete in the ASICS Half Marathon.
Ms Pound, 67, will return to participate at the Gold Coast Marathon after becoming the first woman to join the exclusive 30 Year Half Marathon Club in 2015.
The keen sportswoman said the event had inspired people from all over the Coast to train and push themselves to try something out of their comfort zone.
“The event has generated more of a running culture across the Coast,” she said.
“Over my 30 years of competing, I have seen numbers increase every year with more and more people of different abilities wanting to be a part of such a great event.
“It’s really so much more than just a run,” she said.
Ms Pound was also a volunteer Games Shaper at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
