Can Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo rival Ireland’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations? For the many revellers who partied hard at The Garden it would seem so

A PREDICTION – Cinco de Mayo is going to be the new St Patrick’s Day. The date has great significance in Mexico as a celebration of a famous military victory. In the Garden Kitchen and Bar in The Star on Saturday night it was simply a chance to celebrate, get your face painted, drink a celebratory Tequila or three and yell out Ay Caramba. The outside area was a pumping mass of revellers who probably didn’t understand the significance of the day but know a good party when they see one.
