FISHING

TWEED: Flathead, bream and trevally seen. Whiting and tailor also being caught further down the beaches towards Pottsville and Kingscliff.

BROADWATER: Whiting around, as well as sand crabs along the beaches down towards Sovereign Islands and Paradise Point. Squid around the Seaway, Grand Jetty and Southport pier in particular during high tides. Greenback tailor seen around the Jumpinpin Bar, and squid north of Wavebreak Island.

OFFSHORE: Snapper and some Spanish mackerel still being caught, with snapper in particular around 24 fathoms out and moving in throughout the season as predicted. Squire and yellowfin tuna in the same area, on the 24 fathom reefs.
