Record lives another day

-

AUSTRALIA’S unbeaten run in day-night Tests will remain so until at least January after India baulked at taking on the home team under lights in Adelaide in December.

Officials from the BCCI wrote to Cricket Australia boss James Sutherland and said India, the top-ranked Test nation, wouldn’t delve in to pink ball territory until next year.

The Adelaide Oval clash in December is the opening Test of the four match series with India and also the first for brand new broadcasters Foxtel and the Seven Network, who combined to pay $1.2 billion for TV rights.

“We can confirm that we have received advice from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that it is not prepared to participate in a proposed Day-Night Test in Adelaide this summer. As a result, we can now confirm this Test match will be a Day format,” a CA spokesman said.
