Man falls on co-worker

TWO men were taken to hospital yesterday after one fell from the second storey of an Upper Coomera construction site – landing on his colleague.

Paramedics were called to the dwelling on Rosa Crt, treating two men for injuries, after receiving reports a man fell from height and landed on a co-worker about 10.30am.

Both were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, one receiving treatment for arm injuries and the second for arm injuries and spinal precautions.

Buildsafe director Milton Young said the worker fell about 2.5m.

“He’s hurt, he’s got a very sore shoulder, and just waiting on some tests,” Mr Young said.

“Investigations are ongoing, but it’s just been a freak accident.”
