BULLSHARKS PROVIDE AMAZING EXPERIENCE

-

LOCAL diver Ian Banks dives the Southport seaway most days and a few times a year is rewarded with an incredible sight of a congregation of bullsharks at the entrance. He certainly caught the attention of a lot of people when this great shot he took on Monday morning was featured in Wednesday’s Gold Coast Bulletin. Ian has been witness to the school on a number of occasions and says that they are very placid. He believes they come from the Broadwater and Nerang River and are not bothered by him observing them. Nobody knows for sure why the sharks school at the entrance of the bar but the most common theory is that they are simply socialising. Diving conditions have been excellent over the last week and should remain excellent as we enter the winter months.
