CHANGING TIMES ON BROADBEACH

-

WHEN Jan McCormick began her stint in 2007 running the Blues on Broadbeach festival it was a vastly different event. “The main thing back then was to get it out of the park and into the precinct centred on Surf Parade,” said Jan (pictured with Brett Frizelle.) “Today it costs around $1.4 million to stage and run the festival with 68 per cent of that money coming from our sponsors. Now it has an outstanding reputation with acts from around the world, so much so that we are being approached by them to ask if they can play. I’m also incredibly proud of the fact that we still have kept the team to seven people, which is a testament to their ability to work together under pressure.”
