Magpies wary of hot Westerberg

-

THE Coomera Magpies will look to silence the competition’s leading goal-kicker when they play Coolangatta-Tweed in Round 7 of the QFA division 2 competition tomorrow.

Coomera have lost just one game from the opening six rounds season but will face a Coolangatta-Tweed team boasting super boot Joshua Westerberg.

Westerberg has kicked 21 goals already this season, including a bag of five against current ladder leaders Bond University in Round 3.

Coomera’s Nathan Gurciullo kicked five of his own in the team’s 23-point win over Beenleigh last weekend while Hayden Correa and Zane Baker kicked three each.

Debutant Hayden Bolger also celebrated his first goal at senior level.

Beenleigh kicked the opening goal of the final quarter to level the scores before the Magpies slotted four straight to come away with the four points.

Coomera will play Coolangatta-Tweed at Coomera Sports Park at 2pm.
