Mann’s cartoon (GCB, 21/5/18) hit the nail on the head regarding the strained relationship between the Queensland Premier and the Prime Minister, the majority of the friction brought about by Annastacia Palaszczuk, who continues to insult the PM by blaming him for the M1 car park shame, even though the PM has offered her $1 billion to fix the problem.

Ms Palaszczuk needs to use some diplomacy when dealing with a Prime Minister.

The horror condition of Queensland’s highways lies at the feet of past and present Labor Governments who have been in power for the majority of the years since the dismissal of the National Party Government, with the exception of the two-year reign of Campbell Newman’s LNP, who hand-braked any big projects in an attempt to reduce the enormous Queensland debt dumped in his lap by the big spending Beattie-Bligh Labor Government.

The outrageous $2 billion annual salary for the 20,000 extra public servants Ms Palaszczuk hired could have been spent on the M1 and the light and heavy rail. KEN WADE, TWEED HEADS
