know if it’s a result of globalisation and not that I want to deny people the right to gain citizenship when they come to a western country, but it would seem to me that it’s become far too easy for anyone to get it these days.

If you look back at past lone wolf terrorist attacks in Europe and Australia, you’ll find that all or most perpetrators were originally from high risk countries like Pakistan or Afghanistan.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I found out that the latest terrorist attack in Paris was caused by an idiot with French citizenship but of Chechnyan descent in Russia! If I was able to talk to French president Macron, I’d tell him what I’m about to tell you now: we need to scrutinise people coming into western countries a lot more carefully and that we fully review the citizenship gain process so that no potentially dangerous individual slips through the net and is able to gain it and live in the country until the day he gets to commit a lone wolf attack.

The spate of terrorist attacks in Indonesia lately as well as the latest one in Afghanistan lately are very alarming. A whole family with kids was involved in one of the attacks in Indonesia. I feel sorry for the people in that country.

This is a wake-up call for all countries involved in the fight against terrorism to gather and rebuild their strengths to fight it and this includes Indonesia. FRED HENRY
