Now a veteran of seven Tests, 97 ODIs and 82 T20s for the Southern Stars, the 27-year-old (pictured) debuted for her country in both cricket and football at the age of just 16.

ASH BARTY (TENNIS/ CRICKET)

Burnt out by the world of profession­al tennis, Barty played nine WBBL games for the Brisbane Heat during an 18-month break from the game, before returning to her first love in 2016.

DELISSA KIMMINCE (CRICKET AND AUSTRALIAN RULES)

Handed one of 14 fulltime women’s Cricket Australia contracts last month, the Gold Coast Dolphins allrounder played one game for the Brisbane Lions in the inaugural AFL Women’s competitio­n in 2017.

ERIN PHILLIPS (BASKETBALL AND AUSTRALIAN RULES)

A former WNBA star with the Connecticu­t Sun, the 33-year-old was adjudged best on ground for Adelaide in the 2017 AFL Women’s grand final and also claimed the competitio­n’s best and fairest medal.

JANA PITTMAN (ATHLETICS AND BOBSLEIGH)

The first Australian female to compete in both the summer (2000 and 2004) and winter Olympics (2014), the 35-year-old was one of the world’s preeminent 400m runners before making the shock switch to bobsleigh back in 2012.
