Napa’s old man butts in to debate

-

DYLAN Napa’s father has come out swinging in defence of the under-fire Roosters prop as the NRL issued Wayne Bennett a “please explain” over his savage attack.

Bennett could be hit with a hefty fine by the NRL after slamming the league’s decision to not suspend Napa and claiming “bias against the Broncos”.

Napa was not charged by the match review committee for the controversial tackle which left Broncos prop Korbin Sims with a broken jaw.

The NRL has asked Bennett to clarify his comments before it considers whether to issue a breach notice to the seven-time premiership-winning coach.

Napa’s father yesterday claimed the Queensland Origin forward had done nothing wrong in the tackle which saw his head clash with Sims’.

Stan Napa, a former Norths Devils and North Sydney Bears enforcer, urged Dylan to not change his aggressive approach.

“It wasn’t intentional, it was an accident,” he said.

“Dylan is mates with Korbin. It was an unfortunate incident that happens now and again.

“Wayne likes to blow things up but they won the game.”
