Cattle trucks used to distribute drugs
AN ICE trafficking ring used the heavy vehicle transport industry to ship drugs from southeast Queensland to regional areas, police will allege.
In some cases, drug movement related to cattle transport to Roma, the state’s cattle sales hub.
Police yesterday said they had smashed the drug trafficking network after a 14-month operation, in which 100 people were charged with 800 offences related to the supply of ice.
Detective acting Superintendent Paul Hart said it would be alleged a sophisticated network of traffickers had used the transport industry to move ice.
“Some of these were specifically in relation to cattle transports,” he said.
