-

A MAN has robbed a Southport mobile phone repairs store grinning from ear to ear.

Just before 5.30pm on Monday night the man entered the Scarborough Street business, waiting in the store for about ten minutes until other customers had left.

He then approached two staff members and produced a firearm, threatening a 33-yearold male employee.

CCTV footage captured the incident where the man can be seen hanging around the shop before heading over to the counter. Once there, he shows the employees the small gun before putting it back in his bag. He can be seen grinning as he moves around the counter before again showing the employee the weapon again in his bag.

The man grabs cash from the drawer before fleeing the scene. No one was injured during the incident. The man is described as caucasian, of slim build with short brown hair and aged in his 30s.
