Uber driver falls asleep

A YOUNG woman has filed a complaint with Uber after her driver fell asleep behind the wheel on a Melbourne freeway.

Angelica, who did not give her surname, has told Radio 3AW her Uber trip from the city to Wantirna South early on Sunday took double its usual length, as the driver changed course multiple times, swerved between lanes and then dozed off on the Eastern Freeway.

“He actually dozed off and went left four lanes and actually went off an exit, until he woke up,” she said yesterday.

Uber has been contacted for comment.
