Truckie hit in traffic attack

A WITNESS to a Melbourne road rage incident says up to six men attacked a truck driver and smashed his windscreen with a metal pole.

Police said the truck driver clipped the side of the van while on the Bolte Bridge about 8am yesterday.

The occupants of the van followed the truck to Inglis St at Port Melbourne where they allegedly then used a metal bar to damage the windscreen of the truck.

Witness Andrew told 3AW at least six men, who appeared to work for the same company, began to attack the man.

There are no reports of injuries from the incident.
