LeBron helps inspire Cavs – and create a vibe on Coast

- with Joel McInnes

IT’S NBA Finals time – Cavs v Warriors!

For the fourth straight year we have the same teams playing, the first time since the 60s.

Basketball people will be truly engaged in this series to see if LeBron James can take his team out of it’s whole season slump and run them through the playoffs.

If the Cavs win, LeBron fans will be able to finally compare him to Michael Jordan.

That vibe is rolling on to the courts of the Gold Coast.

Comps are returning to the Upper Coomera and Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre in the next few weeks.

I’m sure parents will be happy that they won’t have to drive their children all over.

Both associations will be relieved to have the access back for the majority of their games and trainings.

There’s a great three on three competition being run out of Varsity college on Sunday 17 June.

Ages are from 14 up through to masters comps.

This competition is being run through the Gold Coast City Council and local businesses for activity in the area.

Three on three is being played at the Olympic Games and is starting to really gain some traction locally and internationally.

A fast-paced game that doesn’t stop and is more physical than regular basketball.

Keep your eyes open for more comps starting on the Coast in the coming months.
