PHOTO SPARKS DEPP HEALTH FEARS
THERE are still hints of the charming swashbuckler who delighted the Gold Coast during filming of Pirates of the Caribbean, but a gaunt Johnny Depp now looks a shadow of his former self.
This new picture of the A-list actor, which emerged on the weekend, sparked fears for his health. He posed with fans in Russia where he’s touring with his band The Hollywood Vampires.
Fans took to social media, with one saying he was “barely recognisable”, while another wrote: “I think that my hero looks ill.”
The actor has also cut his hair into a mohawk, prompting one fan to write: “Please grow some hair on your head and face, and get suntanned.”
Depp has long struggled with addiction issues. He has been candid about his past struggles, telling Rolling Stone magazine: “I’m a dumb-ass and I poisoned myself for years, poisoning myself with alcohol and medicating myself. I was trying not to feel things.”
