QT Gold Coast’s Japanese izakaya Yamagen is now open every Friday for lunch. Sample sashimi tacos, thinly sliced truffle snapper, house-made gyoza, salads and flame-grilled kushiyaki sticks paired with cutting-edge cocktails and Japanese whisky. If you can’t choose, there’s a $49 per person omakase lunch menu featuring seven of the restaurant’s most popular dishes and a glass of either shiraz, pinot gris or Asahi Dry. Lunch is Friday from noon to 3pm and the restaurant will continue to trade for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm until late.
