Fisher wins scholarship
GOLD Coast filmmaker Darren Paul Fisher is off to Canada to work on a long-form TV series after being named the 2018 recipient of the Greg Coote Scholarship.
The screenwriter, director and producer is the third film creative to receive the $30,000 scholarship, a one-of-a-kind Queensland prize awarded annually to a writer, producer, director or creative executive with a successful record of creating compelling drama for the screen.
Mr Fisher, a Senior Teaching Fellow at Bond University whose previous film work includes Inbetweeners, Popcorn and Frequencies, said he was “incredibly grateful for such a unique opportunity”.
