Exclusive aspect appeals

A RIVERFRONT mansion on an exclusive Carrara street has been added to the Gold Coast’s growing list of multimillion-dollar sales.

The Maryland Ave home sold to a local buyer for $4.45 million this week.

Ray White BroadbeachMermaid Waters agents Sam Guo and Julia Kuo, who took care of the sale, said the sprawling 4007sq m property was one of 15 on the street’s river side.

Mr Guo said the buyers were attracted to the home’s position and features.

“Maryland is a very exclusive street. They liked that exclusivity,” he said.

“It was also the privacy, and it has a beautiful pool area and cabana – plenty of space for the family.

“They’re probably going to renovate, then live in it.”

Among the two-storey seven-bedroom, five-bathroom property’s standout features are a billiards room, home office, boatshed, pool, and a cabana with bath and sauna.

Mr Guo said it attracted a range of prospective buyers.

“We had some interest from New Zealand and interstate and local people as well because it’s very unique,” he said.

The property was listed on the market from October 2016 to August 2017 under another agent but failed to sell.

It was relisted in March under Ray White with a $4.85 million price tag.

While the sale didn’t quite reach the asking price, Mr Guo said the sellers were “super happy” with the result.
