Booze thief under fire

A MAN has been charged over a bottle shop robbery in Melbourne’s southeast, after which he and two accomplices allegedly drove a stolen car at police, prompting an officer to shoot.

The 18-year-old allegedly stole liquor from a Dandenong store on Wednesday and later returned in an unsuccessful attempt to again gain entry.

He drove off in a stolen vehicle that was later seen in Dandenong. He accelerated towards a police car and a shot was fired. The man was arrested an hour later.
