POPULAR LEGENDS READY FOR AN ENCORE

-

LEGENDS Match organisers Lee Vernon and Duncan McKenna have already turned their attention to the second instalment after the “huge success” of the inaugural game between Broadbeach United and Palm Beach.

The May 26 encounter at Nikiforides Park, won 2-1 by Broadbeach, celebrated the clubs’ 52-year rivalry and featured players from 1980-99. A return leg will now be played at Palm Beach on August 4, with Sharks president McKenna hopeful of building on the concept’s early foundations. “While it wasn’t our day results wise, I believe the concept was embraced by everyone and a huge success overall,” he said.
