WINTER FASHION AND FURRY FRIENDS

- BRIANNA MORRIS-GRANT

THEY say to never work with animals and children, but this weekend Marina Mirage is throwing that rule out the window.

The shopping centre will hold its annual Winter Showcase on Saturday afternoon, featuring 100 different outfits for men, women and children, accompanied by some fourlegged friends.

The event is being curated by leading Gold Coast stylist Laura Churchill, who said the season’s trends would be on full display in the “luxe” theme.

“We’re focusing on trends around opulence and really beautiful textured fabrics,” she said. “So we’ve got furs featured, and velvet and all those beautiful, rich, kind of tactile wintry fabrics.

“Colour wise there’s a lot of red and burgundy, which are great trend colours this season.”

However she was unable to confirm whether there would be any doggie trends showed off on the runway.
