Missing guns claim refuted
THE Victorian Government has hit back at reports suggesting the police force has lost track of dozens of guns.
A police audit of 911 firearms last year found 81 “could not be identified”, according to Fairfax Media. Firearms dealer Ross Barlow claimed dozens of his guns went missing after being seized by police in 2014, and complained to the force’s professional standards command.
But it was reported the police review found Mr Barlow had not provided enough details for the guns to be located on the firearms registry.
Police Minister Lisa Neville rejected his claims.
