Baton found on man riding bike

A PROHIBITED weapon has been found on a man after police observed him riding a bike without a helmet in Tweed Heads. Police found an extendable baton on the man just before 2am on June 10.

Police had watched two men riding around on bikes without helmets in Wharf St and stopped them.

Further inquiries revealed both men were persons of interest to police in Queensland and NSW. The man did not have a licence to carry the baton and was given a court notice.
