More shot in Kashmir

INDIAN and Pakistani forces were firing along the highly militarised frontier in disputed Kashmir yesterday after Pakistani firing killed at least four Indian soldiers and injured three others on border patrol.

The nuclear-armed nations had recently agreed to stop trading fire along the volatile frontier and uphold a ceasefire dating back 15 years.

India and Pakistan have a long history of bitter relations over Kashmir, which both claim. They have fought two of their three wars since 1947 over their claims to the region.
