Currie case off the pace

THE hearing into 31 charges laid against leading Toowoomba trainer Ben Currie will be delayed beyond original expectations, with a brief of evidence still being compiled by QRIC for his legal team.

At a QCAT stay of proceedings hearing this month, QRIC legal representatives said a brief of evidence would be provided to Currie’s lawyers by June 4, with a view to the hearing being held on June 18.

Currie’s lawyers last week reported they had still not received the evidence, a fact QRIC confirmed yesterday.
