WHO THEY TIP
Name: Caterina Tomarelli (fan) Country: Peru
Team to beat: I think it is going to stay in South America. I wouldn’t say Peru because we’re just happy to qualify. So probably Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina.
Player to watch: There is (a few) young people. For example, we have a good goalkeeper (Pedro) Gallese. He’s a good one, very reactive. Can Australia progress?
They are going to be second I reckon in the group.
Name: Colin Phelan (Burleigh Heads Premier League coach) Country: England
Team to beat: Brazil. I’d love to see England win it but I do get disappointed. If we get to the semis it will give me a good night out.
Player to watch: Neymar (Brazil). He’s coming in well rested and he’s someone who will shine in these big games.
Can Australia progress? If they can get a point (against France) I think they will go through but it’s a big ask. It all rests on that game.
Name: Michael Thwaite (ALeague star) Country:
Australia Team to beat: Germany Player to watch: Toni Kroos (Germany). He’s such a skilful player and his distribution (is great). He stabilises the game and rarely makes a bad pass. Can Australia progress? I think they can get second place. France is going to be a big ask but I think it’s important to have a solid performance and build confidence for the remaining games.
Name: Arthur De Snoo (Palm Beach board member) Country:
Netherlands
Team to beat: I think Germany or France. The Germans have their organisation and the French have a lot of young talent in there. Player to watch: I just hope the Australians give Daniel Arzani a good run. That’s the future of Australian football. Can Australia progress?
Very little chance. Maybe we draw one game … but I don’t think they’re at that level yet.
