BUSINESSES MISS OUT ON GAMES GOLD

MY George Street insider says the Palaszczuk Government will not be giving compensation to Gold Coast businesses which experienced poor trade during the Commonwealth Games.

The reasons are three fold, starting with major events laws which prevents hand-outs in the first place and creating such a precedent.

If the government did this, how would it determine the worst cases? Given there is a pot of gold there, why splinter up the goodies when it can be used for a marketing campaign here.
