Deported for threat to air video

- LEA EMERY

A GOLD Coast man will spend the next three months behind bars before being returned to New Zealand after he threatened to post an erotic video of woman on a public Facebook page.

Courier driver Brandyn Alan Stewart told the woman the only way to stop him from posting the video was if she sent him nude photos.

Judge Michael Rackemann yesterday sentenced Stewart in the Southport District Court to 12 months’ prison to be suspended after three months after he pleaded guilty to extortion.

The court heard it was not the first time Stewart had tried the trick.

In 2013 in NZ when he was 19 Stewart was sentenced to home detention after he threatened to release nude photos of a girl if she stopped talking to him on Facebook.

The court heard the Gold Coast incident started early last year after he promised a woman he met on “sugar daddy” dating website Seeking Arrangement $1000 if she performed a sex act via Skype.

Then on April 15 last year Stewart threatened to put the video on misogynistic Facebook site Blokes Advice if she did not send the nude photos.
