A BEEF WITH PETA

-

IF experience elsewhere is an indication of what lies ahead, the Gold Coast should brace for an escalation in the guilt trip being laid on it by PETA.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has a point when it highlights dreadful treatment of stock but please, the problem lies overseas. Farmers and graziers in Australia are very aware of responsible handling of animals. PETA’s outrage should be reserved for countries where animals are mistreated. It has tried to pressure organisers to change what’s on the menu at two Gold Coast events – a show for children at HOTA today and the Logies awards in July. Are they serious? Kids should not be the target of social engineering. As for the Logies, adults can make their own decisions.
