The Gold Coast Bulletin - - OPINION - TEXT: 0416 905 148

Interesting to note all the money Annastacia Palaszczuk’s Labor Government has given is all union jobs.

Can anybody who gets big bucks for promoting tourism on the Gold Coast explain what happened to all the Japanese honeymoon couples and Middle Eastern tourists that were here in the 90s? Better hope the Chinese don't disappear as well. G.B.

To no-name, diesel always was dearer than ULP, why anyone owns a diesel powered car is beyond me when the spit out ten times the pollution petrol cars do, why aren’t the dopey greenies trying to get rid of diesel cars like they are doing in the UK and Europe instead of trying to close down our coal mines? Ben, an unemployed miner victim.

Parking at any train station is hopeless unless you are there at 6am. We need high-rise parking. I know more people would use the train and retirees would spend the day in Brisbane more often. DL

Such a wonderful cruise ship master plan in Wednesday’s Bully. Dump the Nimbys and bring this wildly attractive and versatile project to life. Would greatly add to the Gold Coast’s reputation as a beautiful tourist-orientated city.

I have lived on the GC for over 50 years and I remember the same comments being made years ago about tourism and development. Can’t we leave the Spit and Springbrook NP for future generations?

I am immensely impressed with the Breakwater Group’s latest proposal for GC Cruise Ship Terminal. So much so, that this issue alone will now become my focus, as to who I vote for (supporting this) 0 next QLD State and GCCC elections. The complete proposal does offer so much more to fix the whole area and provide better infrastructure and amenities for the community and visitors alike. … B.O.

Just because Tourist Tom won an election doesn't give him the right to destroy the GC environment.

To the person/s (or local government body) that stole the swan eggs, destroyed aboriginal history and beheaded a bird last night at Black Swan Lake, you can let me know who you are through here. I’ll be more than happy to show you the error of your ways! Absolute scum! John

Will light rail go into the airport terminal? If not then no

one is going to drag their suitcases all the way to the highway to catch the tram. Light rail should be for the people who live here. Send it to Robina and Harbour town. Redneck ARE the police training their dogs with the Schuntzen method, that is to attack the groin rather than the arm or leg? It certainly seems like the dog squad now have what can only be described as balltearers. Trust me

Robert S Buick - your article (GCB 13/6) was brilliant. Old school logic is sadly missing these days. Jayar Palmy.

Such a shame about Surfers Paradise lately ... not family friendly anymore. Should be renamed Sleazy Paradise. Burleigh girl

Saw pictures of proposed CST. Love it, build it. Local non Greeny.

Property value drop contagion has already begun in Sydney and Melbourne and is spreading nationally. And unemployment, inflation and interest rates have not even risen yet. Wonderful. - Lisa

About My Kitchen Rules sending you deaf. My remote has a mute button that I use often.

It’s Kim Jung Un that should be praised not America or Trump, but the little Un, it’s very brave of him and the rest of North Korea. Imagine the hope the people have now for a better future. Once this is sorted attention will be drawn back to mid east and Iran.

Can’t believe some low life would steal my grandsons prized possession, his scooter. It was in my daughter’s back yard, which can’t be seen from the front yard. Paddy.

Dive tourism researcher. Perhaps more research should be done by you on spending while in port by tourists. We are avid cruisers and by far ships dock for full days and all food and entertainment is bought by tourists in the port. If it wasn’t lucrative then ports would not begin to entertain this industry.

So the council has put biodegradable poo bags in parks. So I wonder why hasn’t Coles & Woolworths done the same with biodegradable bags? No they just want customers to pay for thicker plastic bags 15 cents, but it’s just the same, they are not biodegradable. Sue, Currumbin

Steven Jamieson will deservedly cop plenty of criticism for his views on light rail to Burleigh (Tram raid absolute rubbish GCB 14/6). He lives in Robina. Won’t use it, won’t be impacted.
