Moss eyes consolation

-

RATHER than waste a trip, Victorian trainer Peter Gelagotis decided to make the most of the back-end of the carnival and give pocket rocket Moss ’N’ Dale his chance in tomorrow’s Eye Liner Stakes.

A last-start Flemington winner, Moss ’N’ Dale was made third emergency for last week’s Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap and missed a run, so he now finds himself pressing for favouritism in Ipswich’s feature sprint.

“It’s silly to be lugging him backwards and forwards for no result,” Gelagotis said.

“He’s there to compete, this race fits in well being only a week later, so why not? Then there’s the Glasshouse at Caloundra in a couple of weeks.”

Moss ’N’ Dale, who has won 11 of his 24 starts, is a $4.80 chance with Ladbrokes.
