OFF THE RECORD

-

SOME ONE has obviously developed a most surprising opinion of her own self-importance. At a recent social soiree we were packing up to exit stage left when someone approached and asked the obvious question. “Are you leaving?” “Yes, why?” “‘Gorgeous’ just sent me a text to say she is running late and to get you to stay until she arrives.” I’m really sorry but we have to be at the next job. Tell her we’ll get her next time we see her.” “She won’t be happy. Her make-up artist took longer than expected.” Talk to the hand sister. And you think it is all froth and fun out there on the social scene.

ANOTHER case of OPM (Other People’s Money) working hard to provide for this supposedly down and out dude. For the past few months he has been telling his many creditors that due to the Comm Games/slow business/full moon etc that he was having difficulty paying his bills. In many cases those excuses are legitimate (except for the full moon) and do work but his cover has been blown after he was seen flashing around town in a brand new, top of the line, luxury sedan. He will now find that the polite requests will stop but the legal writs will start to flow. Silly boy.

SOCIALISM at its very best. With her little darling having just taken up tennis, this doting mother has grown tired of the continual trips to and from the nearest courts. Living as she does in a gated community she then had a brainwave. Why not convince the other residents to chip in via their body corporate fees and build a state of the art tennis court? Brilliant except for some teensy problems. Almost nobody else plays, the cost of building and maintaining the court would be an ongoing burden and if they start with tennis what would be next? Motion outvoted.

TIME is supposed to heal all wounds and when this former playboy saw an old flame in his local supermarket he rushed over to give her a big hug. However his warm embrace was met with a chilly response. It seems he had forgotten how much pain, suffering and financial loss he had caused, reasoning that because he was having a good time then the experience was mutual. Once they had disentangled she then proceeded to loudly tell him, in front of everyone, what she thought of his caddish and dishonest behaviour. There is no fury like a woman scorned and ignored.
