Bulletin lands seven awards
THE Gold Coast Bulletin claimed seven trophies in a strong showing at the Gold Coast Media Awards the QT on Saturday night.
Veteran Bulletin photographer Michael Batterham was recognised with awards for Best News Photography and best News Sports Photography as well as the Media Excellence Award in recognition of his achievements over a 35year career.
Bulletin senior reporter Paul Weston won Best News Story for his coverage of the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation into the Gold Coast City Council and Best News Feature for a story on historic child abuse at a prominent Gold Coast school.
Senior reporter Andrew Potts won Best GC2018 Story for his special report Yellow Brick Road revealing the true economic impact of the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Photographer Glenn Hampson won Best Lifestyle or Feature photograph while fellow Bulletin photographer Jerad Williams was also nominated.
Bulletin writers Sally Coates, Emma Greenwood and Tom Boswell were all finalists.
