- KATE PARASKEVOS

THE Mudgeeraba Show has been entertaining young and old for 90 years and the weekend was no exception.

Official numbers are yet to be crunched but organisers believe they are close to doubling last year’s attendance of just over 40,000.

Families from far and wide flocked to the showgrounds for the two-day event, which featured horse, poultry, goat, sheep and cattle competitions as well as the traditional show fare of carnival rides, show bags and the animal nursery.

Lisa Newman and partner Cameron Mole have visited the show with their kids for the past four years.

Daughter Emma Mole, 9, celebrated her birthday yesterday with two friends, enjoying the rides, games and animal displays alongside elder sister Elise Mole, 10.

“We like going on the really high slide,” Emma said.

Show Society president Jenny Shultz said she was happy it had been a successful and safe show.

“We have been getting amazing feedback so we couldn’t be happier. It’s been amazing,” she said.
